Rustic country charm" is a description that landed and stuck once the vision of our B&B started coming fo life.
Tim and I have always loved to visit old historic towns, antique shops, festivals, eclectic small-town stores and most things from generations past. That love has now integrated its way into Big Country Bed and Breakfast.
So why "rustic country charm..." what does that even mean? According to the dictionary the word "rustic" means "relating to the countryside; rural"... well that certainly fits. It also means "constructed or made in a plain and simple fashion...", which is also an appropriate description.
Our rooms and guest spaces are not frilly or fancy, but are warm, inviting and comfortable. Each room... each carefully placed piece has lived a previous life and has it's own story to tell, and collectively it all comes together to embody "rustic country charm."
Now step outside to the sights and sounds of everything country... deer, turkey, owls, frogs, bats, and more. Surrounded by mighty oaks and open sky, it doesn't get anymore country than this.
So far guests have said it just "feels like home," like they are here visiting with old friends. Many guests arrive at breakfast in their bare feet and sometimes we visit for hours.
So, when you decide you want a quiet getaway with a
quaint dose of rustic country charm, come see us at Big Country Bed and Breakfast outside of Laurie, Missouri at Lake of the Ozarks. ~Angie
